Company history
Morris Powerlec was established in 1981 (as Powerlec Pty Ltd).
For 12 years Powerlec designed, manufactured, supplied and serviced a wide range of materials-handling,
lifting and specialised engineering equipment.
The companies three major Divisions General Sales, Service and Major Projects deliver and support leading-
edge technology solutions that combine innovation, efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness.
In 1995, Powerlec moved to custom-designed facilities at Wetherill Park in the industrial heartland of
Sydney’s western suburbs.
Current structure and planned growth
During 1998 Powerlec became part of Morris Material Handling Inc. one of the worlds leading manufacturers of
Overhead Materials Handling equipment.
Morris has over 2,100 employees in 68 manufacturing and servicing locations throughout the world, we have
opened new Sales and Service Centres in Brisbane and Newcastle. The growth experienced in these regions has
created a need for direct presence to satisfy customers needs for reliable and prompt service. Peter Bonselaar
purchased the Company and as of February 2003 returning to 100% Australian ownership.
